Scotland fans begin to leave the United States

Scotland fans have started to leave the United States as their chances of qualification for the round of 32 continue to slim, reports BritPanorama.

The Tartan Army, known for their passionate support, has made a significant impact during this World Cup, especially in cities like Boston. However, following their recent defeat to Brazil, many fans are now heading home.

Michael Tate, originally from Aberdeen and currently residing in Los Angeles, has noted a decrease in the number of Scots in Miami since the match. “It’s been fantastic. The whole atmosphere, the friendliness, the people have been welcoming,” he said, although he acknowledged that many fans have already booked their flights home as hopes of qualification dwindle.

Clark Thomson from Dundee reflected on his plans to visit Boston but concluded that qualifying now seems unlikely. “I think it’s a 100 percent chance we won’t qualify now,” he remarked. The sentiment resonates deeply among fans, as the team only managed one goal throughout the group stage, scoring in their opening game against Haiti.

Scotland’s manager, Steve Clarke, expressed a bleak outlook following the loss, admitting, “I think we’re probably going home.” He highlighted defensive errors which allowed Brazil to capitalise, emphasising the need for improvement moving forward.

While some fans may linger for a few days in the US, attracted by the local culture, a sense of resignation appears to be settling among the Tartan Army. As they pack their bags, the reality of the team’s World Cup journey comes into sharp focus, a reminder of the fine line between hope and disappointment in international football.
