Tiger Woods makes progress in rehabilitation following DUI arrest
Tiger Woods is making encouraging progress at a rehabilitation centre in Zurich, Switzerland, following his DUI arrest last month, reports BritPanorama.
The 50-year-old golfing icon was taken into custody after his Land Rover overturned in Florida, leading to charges including driving under the influence, property damage, and refusing to submit to a lawful test. Following his arrest, Woods spent eight hours in police custody before being released on bail.
Woods faces three charges stemming from the incident. He has since entered a Swiss treatment facility where sources indicate he has been “responding well to treatment.” The five-time Masters champion is believed to be undertaking an intensive 90-day programme at the facility, but retains the freedom to depart whenever he chooses.
According to insiders, Woods remains committed to his recovery, working with a specialist in pain management who is treating his physical ailments without relying on addictive opioid medications. His girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr., is reportedly pleased with the updates she has been receiving about his condition.
Woods’ communications appear to be limited to a small circle, speaking only with Trump, his children, and his long-time agent Mark Steinberg via telephone and video calls. His focused approach suggests a serious commitment to recovery amid the challenges he faces during this period.
The case is scheduled to be heard in court on 5 May, with the date provisionally set as Woods continues his treatment programme in Switzerland. Prior to the accident, he had expressed his intention to compete at this year’s Masters tournament at Augusta, but instead watched as his close friend Rory McIlroy claimed victory.
As the golf world watches closely, Woods remains a prominent figure in the sport, a reminder of both the fragility of fame and the enduring pursuit of redemption.
