CAF backs Gianni Infantino amid ongoing challenges
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reaffirmed its support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino following a turbulent period marked by criticism and challenges to his leadership, reports BritPanorama.
CAF’s Executive Committee unanimously confirmed its backing for Infantino, who expressed gratitude for the federation’s endorsement.

In their statement, CAF declared: “The CAF Executive Committee (‘EXCO’) unanimously endorses the ‘Joint Update’ by the FIFA President and Secretary General on the FIFA Forward Enterprise and will continue to focus on making African Football amongst the best in the world and adhering to governance and transparency global best practices.”
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe emphasized the federation’s commitment, stating: “CAF will continue to focus on making African Football amongst the best in the world and is reaffirming its commitment to adhering to global governance, transparency and auditing best practices.” He noted the importance of governance as “crucial and non-negotiable,” reflecting expectations not only from CAF but also from governments and businesses across the continent.
