The 40-year-old is offering £200 worth of fish and chips along with a signed shirt to anyone providing information that leads to the coat’s return. The theft occurred while Price was watching rugby in Newport last week.
Taking to Instagram, he described how “some scruffy old ruff un” took his coat at Potters Bar in Newport. Price posted on Sunday: “Anyone who gets the coat back or gives information that leads to getting it back will get £200 worth of food from @chippy501_2024 and a signed Iceman playing shirt.”
A witness provided crucial information about the incident, sharing that they overheard a couple discussing the stolen item. Price later shared a screenshot of a message from that witness, which noted a man saying “You have Gerwyn Price’s coat” before the pair entered a taxi heading towards Cwmbran.
Following this lead, Price launched the hashtag #FindTheCoat on social media to help track down his missing garment. The darts champion has been actively updating his Instagram followers about the search.
He emphasized that recovering the coat is about principle rather than its value, stating: “It’s not about the coat it’s principle and they need to be named and shamed.” The reward food will come from Price’s own fish and chip shop in Markham, Wales, which he established last year after his previous cafe faced difficulties attracting customers.
