On Thursday, the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund announced it would withdraw funding for the controversial LIV Golf tour, marking a significant shift just four years after its inception. Despite the lack of financial guarantees, LIV Golf officials are seeking alternative funding sources. Nevertheless, there is an increasing sense that some of the tour’s most prominent figures, potentially including DeChambeau, may consider returning to the PGA Tour.
As one of the league’s marquee players, DeChambeau had reportedly been in negotiations for a new contract before the funding announcement. However, insiders suggest he might opt for a full-time role as a content creator on platforms like YouTube, where he would potentially limit his competitive engagements to major tournaments. These prospects follow his two US Open victories, the first of which was in 2020.
