Mohamed Salah may reconsider Liverpool departure following managerial change

Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool future remains uncertain

Mohamed Salah’s potential exit from Liverpool may not be as final as previously anticipated, according to his Egypt teammate Ahmed El-Shenawy, reports BritPanorama.

El-Shenawy has revealed that the idea of leaving the Merseyside club has significantly affected Salah psychologically. “The prospect of leaving Liverpool has affected Mo psychologically, but the situation might change and he could still stay with the team,” he stated during an interview with ON Sports.

Despite announcing his decision to depart as a free agent back in March, Salah’s situation appears increasingly fluid. The 33-year-old forward, known as the ‘Egyptian King’, has expressed uncertainty about his future, having previously confirmed his exit after nine successful years at Anfield.

During his time at the club, Salah amassed an impressive collection of silverware, including two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups, and the memorable Champions League triumph in 2019. Yet, his farewell season was marred by tension, particularly following a public fallout with the club’s hierarchy and previous manager Arne Slot.

The managerial change at Liverpool, with Andoni Iraola now in charge, has altered the dynamics significantly. El-Shenawy clarified that Salah remains unsure of where he will be next season, despite having bid farewell to the Liverpool supporters three months ago. “He even told me that he doesn’t know anything about his future yet,” he noted.

Salah has kept his options open, insisting that he is in no rush to make a final decision. “I am still watching, I have time now, I am going to the World Cup and then everything will be clear. But if there is a good opportunity before it I will decide, and if there is no one, I will make my decision after the World Cup,” he was quoted as saying.

His representative, Ramy Abbas Issa, echoed this sentiment, urging fans to remain cautious amid ongoing transfer speculation surrounding Salah’s future.

As the summer transfer window unfolds, Salah’s situation will remain a focal point, highlighting not only the complexity of his decision but also the broader implications for Liverpool as they embark on a new chapter under different management. How all this unfolds remains to be seen, but for now, the Anfield saga continues on an intriguing path.
