Mikel Arteta signs new contract with Arsenal until June 2030

Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract with Premier League champions Arsenal, keeping him at the club until June 2030, reports BritPanorama.

The extension had been set for renewal at the end of the season but has now been finalised, marking Arteta’s commitment into his 11th year in charge.

With this agreement, Arteta becomes Arsenal’s third-longest-serving manager, following Arsène Wenger and George Allison. The Spaniard has overseen a transformative period, bringing significant successes to the club, including an FA Cup victory, three Community Shields, and the Premier League title last season.

Arteta expressed his enthusiasm for the future, stating, “It’s a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal.” He further noted, “We have already built a special bond and created memories that will last a lifetime.”

He acknowledged the significance of leading Arsenal during a transformative time in its 140-year history, saying, “I feel honoured to be leading this club through such a special period.” His sentiments underscore the connection he feels with the club and its supporters.

The co-chairs of Arsenal, Stan and Josh Kroenke, welcomed the new contract, describing the journey with Arteta as incredible and expressing their excitement for future prospects. “He knows what this club means to everyone connected to it and is committed to building on everything we have achieved together,” they stated.

Looking ahead, Arsenal’s next fixture will be against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium this Saturday. The team heads into this match on the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Brighton before the international break and sits three points behind league leaders Manchester City, who face Liverpool on Sunday.

As Arteta embarks on this renewed chapter with Arsenal, the echoes of past triumphs blend with the uncertainty of future challenges, a reminder that in football, the path forward can shift in an instant.
