Michail Antonio caught speeding in Lamborghini three months after serious crash

Former Premier League star Michail Antonio has been clocked speeding in his £200,000 Lamborghini merely three months after nearly losing his life in a horror car crash, reports BritPanorama.

The ex-West Ham forward was recorded exceeding the speed limit in Birmingham, driving at 50mph in a 40mph zone in March 2025.

This incident occurred just weeks after Antonio had been hospitalised following a horrific crash in December 2024, when his Ferrari collided with a tree, resulting in severe injuries.

The 34-year-old now playing for Qatari outfit Al-Sailiya faced charges for both speeding and failing to provide information about the driver of the vehicle. He did not appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court, where he was found guilty in his absence of failing to disclose who was driving. Prosecutors opted not to pursue the speeding charge.

Prosecutor Lucy Allen informed the court that Antonio already accumulated six penalty points on his driving licence. The current conviction may lead to a driving ban when he returns to court for sentencing on June 19.

The accident in December left Antonio with a severe fracture to his lower leg after his Ferrari struck a tree, requiring significant emergency efforts to free him from the wreckage. He was airlifted to hospital and underwent immediate surgery, later revealing that he felt he had been “close to dying” in the crash.

Despite the ordeal, Antonio returned to action in June and previously expressed a desire to distance himself from sports cars, indicating a more cautious approach following his near-fatal experience.

Now, however, his latest speeding incident raises questions about his commitment to this newfound caution. It serves as a stark reminder of the fine line athletes navigate between their high-octane lifestyles and the repercussions of their actions, where the adrenaline can sometimes overshadow the lessons learned from past mistakes.
