Leif Davis donates £2,000 to family of Noah Woods
Premier League star Leif Davis has made a £2,000 donation to the family of Noah Woods following the tragic death of the three-year-old, reports BritPanorama.
Noah was reported missing on the afternoon of September 15 after he became separated from a relative during a visit to a playground on Merriam Close. His body was subsequently recovered by officers from the Metropolitan Police Dive Team from Decoy Pond in Brantham on September 17.
Davis, who plays as a defender for Ipswich Town, was reportedly among a group of at least 1,300 volunteers who joined the search for Noah in the early hours of September 16. In a show of support, a Just Giving page has also been established to aid Noah’s family, which has raised over £88,000 thus far.
In a tribute to Noah, Ipswich Town’s captain Dara O’Shea and goalkeeper Christian Walton laid a wreath at the playground where he was last seen. The club expressed its condolences in a statement, saying, “The thoughts of everyone at Ipswich Town are with the family and friends of Noah Woods at this tragic time. We will be wearing black armbands for this weekend’s fixtures, in memory of Noah.”
Everton Football Club has echoed Ipswich’s sentiment, announcing their players will also wear black armbands during their upcoming match. Authorities have stated that Noah’s death is not being treated as suspicious; however, police are continuing inquiries before submitting a file to the Coroner. Superintendent Tom Pearse noted, “I want to once again extend our thoughts and deepest sympathy to Noah’s family and thank them for their patience and understanding throughout the searches.”
Noah’s father, Rhys Woods, shared a heartfelt tribute on a local community Facebook group, expressing his profound grief and describing his son as “the sweetest and most innocent little boy.” He added, “There are no words to describe the pain of this loss, we are all absolutely heartbroken.” The family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
