Lewis Hamilton shares insights after strong Canadian Grand Prix performance
Lewis Hamilton has reflected on his recent performance, finishing second at the Canadian Grand Prix, marking his best outing with Ferrari thus far, reports BritPanorama.
The seven-time world champion expressed his satisfaction with the race, stating, “Yeah, I had so much fun out there all weekend.” He attributed part of his improvement to the positive attitude he brought to the track, mentioning that the car “generally felt great.”
Hamilton highlighted his enjoyment of the Montreal race weekend, noting it was the first Sprint weekend at this track. “To come to Montreal, a track that I do love, and get to enjoy a Sprint weekend was awesome. And this is my first second place with the team,” he added.
Interestingly, Hamilton revealed that his recent success has come without relying on simulation training, a tool many drivers use for preparation. “I’m always there to help the team move forward and develop it. Now, whether or not I use it to prepare for another race? Probably not. There are just too many risks,” he explained.
Reflecting on his racing philosophy, he shared that traditionally, he has performed well without simulators, indicating, “Pretty much all the championships before, except for probably 2008, I didn’t use the sim. So it’s not a necessity. It’s a tool that can be powerful, but I’m old school. I’m probably better without it.” He praised his team for their continuous efforts behind the scenes to develop the car, expressing gratitude for their support.
Hamilton detailed the hard work invested in achieving his current performance, stating, “It’s something I’ve been working so hard on, I can’t even begin to explain how deep I’ve had to dig to get to this point.” He also noted the challenges faced during the race, particularly in competition with top rivals, describing the experience as “massively challenging.”
As he looks ahead, Hamilton is optimistic about future improvements and remains focused on refining his approach. “I think what could be good is going back and doing correlation to this weekend so we can find out where it’s missing,” he mentioned, indicating his desire for continuous growth.
As the Formula 1 season progresses, Hamilton’s adaptability and willingness to embrace his roots alongside technological advancements will continue to be pivotal in his journey, underlining how tradition and innovation often intersect in the high-speed world of motorsport.
