We squashed it, and we can move on.” He acknowledged the complexity that arises due to their close racing dynamics.
Leclerc admitted responsibility for the incident during the Italian race and suggested that while there should be an understanding between teammates, formal rules might not be necessary. “After reviewing, we spoke with Lewis. I obviously know I went too far in turn two, and I said it to Lewis,” he explained, adding, “it’s very clear what we should do or should avoid going forward.”
Both drivers conveyed the importance of maintaining their positive rapport despite the challenges of competitive racing. Leclerc asserted, “The only thing I can say is that it definitely did not affect the good relationship that we have, and it will not affect anything going forward. And that is the most important for me really.”
