Andy Burnham visits Kyiv, plays guitar with Ukrainian soldiers
Andy Burnham played guitar with Ukrainian soldiers during his first official trip to Kyiv as prime minister, reports BritPanorama.
Footage shared on social media on Monday, 24 August, captured the moment when Burnham and a soldier performed a rendition of “Rusholme Ruffians” by the Manchester band The Smiths.
The prime minister took to the guitar in the mobile recording studio of the military and artistic unit, Cultural Forces, known for its performances on the front line, in hospitals, and at rehabilitation centres.
“I’m out of practice,” Burnham quipped as he began playing, though he opted not to sing. The soldiers subsequently entertained him with a rendition of an Oasis song.
