Hamas applauds Ed Miliband’s sanctions on Israel
TERROR group Hamas has applauded Ed Miliband’s sanctions on Israel as a “step in the right direction,” reports BritPanorama.
The leaders behind the October 7 atrocity also praised the Foreign Secretary for asserting that Israeli “settler terrorists” are committing ethnic cleansing against Palestinians in the West Bank.
On Tuesday, Mr Miliband announced that Britain will ban imports from illegal settlements in the West Bank. Eleven nations joined the UK in taking this action.
Basem Naim, a senior member of Hamas’ political bureau, stated: “Sanctions by Britain and other countries, and the foreign minister’s use of the term ‘ethnic cleansing’, are important steps in the right direction — but they are not enough.”
Naim further emphasized that achieving peace in Palestine requires the immediate implementation of international resolutions and the prosecution of war criminals in Israel akin to the Nuremberg trials.
Hamas, which governs Gaza, is designated as a terror group in the UK. The October 7 attacks in Israel resulted in the deaths of 1,200 people.
Richard Tice, deputy leader of Reform UK, criticized Miliband’s actions, stating, “Hamas praises their puppet Miliband. He should resign. He has made Jews less safe.”
Mr Miliband, who is Jewish, is the first British minister to declare the occupation of Palestinian territory unlawful. In response, Israel has condemned his statements as “lies” and has announced countermeasures, including plans to shut Britain’s consulate in Jerusalem.
This latest development underscores the complexities of international responses to the ongoing conflict and raises questions regarding the diplomatic balance that the UK seeks to maintain in the region.
