Latest rumours surrounding Michael Schumacher’s health emerge
Christian Danner, a close friend of Michael Schumacher, has shared new rumours about the former Formula One champion’s life in private, while admitting he has not been able to verify these claims with Schumacher’s family, reports BritPanorama.
Schumacher has remained largely out of the public eye since his catastrophic skiing accident in December 2013, resulting in a severe brain injury. His wife, Corinna, has taken on the role of protector of his privacy, allowing access to only a handful of close family members and friends amid ongoing speculation about his health.
Danner has mentioned hearing claims that Schumacher is currently living in Majorca, although he stressed that he could not confirm these assertions. “There are all these rumours he’s in Majorca, and they’ve put him in an estate there, and so forth,” he said. “When I’m speaking to Corinna, she’s not mentioning it. When I’m speaking to other people who could know, they don’t tell me.”
In previous statements, Corinna Schumacher has articulated the family’s determination to keep her husband’s recovery process private. “We’re together. We live together at home. We do therapy,” she noted in a 2021 Netflix documentary. “We do everything we can to make Michael better and to make sure he’s comfortable. And to simply make him feel our family, our bond. ‘Private is private’, as he always said.”
While Danner acknowledged his lack of direct knowledge about Schumacher’s present condition, he suggested that his ongoing absence from public life speaks volumes about the difficulties he continues to face. “However Michael looks, or under whatever conditions he’s alive – I don’t know – I want to see him again,” he reflected, adding that the lack of public appearances often indicates serious health issues. “The fact that he’s not appearing anywhere indicates that he’s probably not very well.”
Danner expressed hope that Schumacher might one day be able to re-enter public life, which he believes would be an emotional moment for fans and colleagues within the sport. “For me personally, it would be absolutely smashing to see him. I think that feeling is around for virtually everybody in Formula 1,” he said, reflecting on the special place Schumacher holds in the sport’s history.
Earlier in 2025, reports indicated that Schumacher was not bedridden but required continuous support from family and caregivers, emphasising the ongoing challenges he and his family navigate in their efforts to maintain a semblance of normalcy in the face of extraordinary circumstances. For a figure whose legacy shaped the sport, the hope remains that one day he may grace the circuits once more, reminding everyone of the sheer brilliance that marked his career.
