Tyson Fury will step into the ring against Polish heavyweight Mariusz Wach on 24 July at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand, as he prepares for a crucial all-British clash with Anthony Joshua, reports BritPanorama.
This matchup serves as a warm-up contest for Fury, who has recently relocated his training operations to Southeast Asia. The fight with Joshua, however, remains provisional, with both venues and dates yet to be confirmed, contingent on the two fighters securing victories in their respective prep bouts. Joshua is scheduled to face Albanian fighter Kristian Prenga the day after Fury’s bout.
Wach, now 46 years old, enters the contest with a professional record of 39 wins and 13 losses. Once a challenger for Wladimir Klitschko’s heavyweight titles in 2012, his prime years are well behind him. Currently, he is regarded more as a durable opponent capable of absorbing punishment than as a genuine title contender.
Wach’s recent performances reinforce this assessment; he has lost seven of his last ten fights, including a second-round stoppage defeat to Moses Itauma in July 2024. His past opponents include notable names such as Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin.
