Red Bull confirms Liam Lawson as Max Verstappen’s teammate for Spanish Grand Prix
Red Bull Racing has announced that Liam Lawson will continue as Max Verstappen’s teammate for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix, following Isack Hadjar’s absence due to a wrist injury, reports BritPanorama.

In a statement, Red Bull confirmed, “After racing for the team in Zandvoort and Monza, Liam will continue to drive alongside Max at this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid.”
The team also noted that while Isack’s recovery is progressing positively, he is not yet ready to return but will support the team during the race weekend. “Everyone at Red Bull Racing looks forward to welcoming Isack back behind the wheel very soon,” the statement added.
Lawson, who faced a challenging return to the team last season, has shown resilience despite being dropped after two races where he finished seventh and 14th. He had recently complained about his team’s execution during qualifying at Monza, where he suffered a significant grid penalty due to an engine change.
In his reflections, Lawson expressed his disappointment about the team’s strategy during qualifying, stating, “We just had a plan and in some ways didn’t really follow it exactly.” He acknowledged the need to optimize their approach but recognizes that this weekend’s qualifying isn’t their primary focus.
