The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has indicated that air quality indices could reach “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” (orange) levels, potentially escalating to “Unhealthy for All” (red). They have advised all New Yorkers to limit strenuous outdoor activities exceeding one hour and for sensitive individuals to avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure altogether.
