Luke Littler admits culinary skills are limited to toast
Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler has acknowledged his need to shed weight, revealing that his cooking abilities extend no further than making toast, reports BritPanorama.
During a discussion about a viral hypothetical race against Olympic legend Mo Farah, Littler highlighted the challenges professional darts players face regarding nutrition, especially with demanding schedules and late-night play.
<p"It's a fun debate that's got top darts players talking about their eating habits," he noted, admitting that healthy food choices are scarce after hours. "At those times, there's nothing healthy to eat," he stated, indicating that standard meals are often his only option.
While Littler expressed a candid disregard for his cooking skills, his rival Luke Humphries has adopted a different dietary approach, successfully losing four stone during the pandemic through a focus on nutrition.
Humphries commented, “When I’m at home, I don’t even think about going out to eat or ordering in,” emphasizing his commitment to preparing healthy meals. He added, “I’m not going to say I’m a great chef who can cook everything, but I do cook at home. I make good pastas, but really anything that’s nutritious for me, my partner, and the kids.”
On the other hand, Jonny Clayton, who holds a strong position in the Premier League, admitted he takes a more relaxed view of his diet, stating, “My diet isn’t great. If something looks good, I’ll eat it.” This attitude seems reflective of a broader sentiment among players regarding food choices in the high-pressure darts circuit.
As the landscape of professional darts continues to evolve, so too does the conversation around the health and dietary practices of its players, highlighting a fascinating intersection of sport and personal discipline.
