Maresca focused on Champions League amid club situation
Enzo Maresca has reiterated his commitment to Manchester City’s objectives in the Champions League, despite ongoing challenges facing the club, reports BritPanorama.
The club’s head coach emphasized the importance of the tournament, stating, “The Champions League, for this organisation, is so, so important, no doubt.” He acknowledged the need for improvement as City looks to recover from previous seasons where they faced setbacks in the competition.
Maresca continued, “We’re going to try to improve compared to the last two or three years where the team struggled a little bit.” He expressed a sense of uncertainty about the future, reflecting on the team’s potential trajectory: “Where we can be in March or April, or if this is the last Champions League for a while, I don’t know.”
The challenge ahead for City remains multifaceted, with the club needing both to navigate its current difficulties and to reclaim their status among Europe’s elite. As the competition progresses, the eyes will undoubtedly be on how effectively Maresca can blend ambition with the demands placed on his squad.
In a sport where glory and turmoil often coexist, Maresca’s focus encapsulates the dual hopes and pressures that define a manager’s role at one of Europe’s premier clubs.
