Bournemouth appoint Marco Rose as new manager
Bournemouth have announced the appointment of Marco Rose as their new manager for the 2025/26 season, following the confirmation from current boss Andoni Iraola that he will depart at the end of the current campaign, reports BritPanorama.
The club revealed that Rose, 49, will join the Cherries on a three-year contract after the conclusion of the current Premier League season. Bournemouth’s official statement expressed enthusiasm for welcoming Rose to Vitality Stadium, where he will take up his new role in the summer.
As the club sits in eighth place in the Premier League, their immediate focus remains on finishing the season strongly, maintaining commitment to a 13-match unbeaten run. They aim to achieve positive results to build on their current form.
Rose emerged as the preferred choice among three candidates considered by the club, alongside Kieran McKenna of Ipswich Town and Inigo Perez of Rayo Vallecano. The new manager arrives with a wealth of experience from the German Bundesliga, having previously coached Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
His coaching career began at Red Bull Salzburg, where he secured back-to-back league titles and led the team to the Europa League semi-finals. Following his time in Austria, he managed Borussia Monchengladbach before moving to Dortmund, where he was eventually sacked by RB Leipzig in March 2025 after a trophy-laden spell, which included winning the DFB Pokal and the German Super Cup.
With Rose set to make his managerial debut in England, the upcoming season marks a significant transition for Bournemouth, who will look to enhance their competitive standing under his guidance.
It is perhaps a reminder of the bold decisions clubs must take, as even in the world of football, the tides of ambition often flow against the current of uncertainty.
