Tragic fall of British toddler in Cyprus hotel
A three-year-old British boy has died after falling from the fourth floor of a hotel window while playing with his father in Chloraka, Paphos, reports BritPanorama.
The incident occurred when the family had just arrived for a summer vacation and checked into the hotel on Saturday. Local authorities reported receiving initial calls about the accident at approximately 6:40 PM shortly after the boy fell.
The child reportedly landed on the hotel’s main veranda and was unresponsive when emergency services arrived at the scene. He had been playing with his father, aged 37, while waiting for an elevator, when he allegedly slipped from his father’s arms, according to local news reports.
Following the incident, the boy was rushed to Paphos General Hospital. Despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries. The family includes a five-year-old girl who was also on holiday with them.
The father has been arrested on suspicion of negligence and is facing charges related to causing death through a reckless or negligent act. He will be remanded for eight days as local police continue their investigation into the incident.
A post-mortem examination was scheduled for the following day, as investigators cordoned off the scene to further understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic fall.
