Kuwait Airways has rescheduled all flights after operations were suspended at the country’s international airport due to “hostile missile and drone attacks” from Iran, reports BritPanorama.
The US and Iran exchanged fresh strikes for a seventh consecutive night into Saturday morning, with Iran claiming it struck US military assets in Bahrain, including aircraft hangars and fuel tanks at the Sheikh Isa Air Base.
Jordan said it intercepted 10 missiles, while Saudi Arabia and Bahrain issued public alerts warning residents of potential threats.
Iran also stated it had launched fresh operations targeting maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, where the US resumed its own blockade. Tehran asserted that its forces stopped four vessels in the Strait, claiming that two oil tankers caught fire and exploded after passing through what it described as a mined route. However, the US military rejected that narrative as false.
Moreover, Iranian authorities reported that 10,000 people were without water following a US strike on a desalination plant in Jask county. The US has targeted civilian infrastructure, including bridges and water desalination facilities, in recent days, a move that has drawn calls for restraint from the UN.
Kuwait reported injuries among its firefighters who were tackling fires caused by the Iranian strikes. “The first incident during the firefighting operation resulted in a number of injuries among the firefighters and one of the workers,” according to their statement.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Defence Force confirmed that it intercepted and destroyed several Iranian aerial attacks, accusing Tehran of maintaining a “systematic hostile approach” by targeting civilians in the kingdom. The military urged residents to avoid debris from the attacks, highlighting that such actions constitute a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
