Kemi Badenoch criticizes mourners of Ayatollah's death, calls for expulsion of Iran supporters

Kemi Badenoch criticizes supporters of Iran following Ayatollah’s death, reports BritPanorama.

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has condemned those mourning the death of former Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, labeling them “clueless” and suggesting that individuals supporting Iran should be expelled from the UK. Vigils for Khamenei have taken place at some British mosques, while university students have shared tributes online.

Badenoch stated that those expressing grief have not got their “head screwed on properly.” She asserted that these reactions come from people enjoying the safety of the UK while engaging in destructive politics, possibly referring to individuals of foreign background. “They should not be here if they are foreign,” she added.

The Tory leader further criticized certain British citizens who she perceives as misguided, saying, “We have, very sadly, British people who don’t like their own country. They are a disgrace. This country is amazing.” Badenoch’s remarks follow the Israeli airstrike that resulted in Khamenei’s death last week.

Khamenei’s regime was known for sponsoring terrorism abroad and orchestrating assassination plots on British soil. His leadership has been marked by severe repression and violence against Iranian citizens seeking freedom, highlighting the ongoing human rights crises in Iran.

Badenoch’s comments reflect a broader concern regarding the balance of domestic sentiment towards foreign adversaries and the implications for national identity and security.

As tensions continue to rise surrounding Iran’s activities and UK’s immigration policies, the challenge remains for leaders to navigate public opinion while addressing the complexities of international relations and domestic unity.
