Iran warns Trump’s actions may lead to World War III amid ongoing Strait of Hormuz crisis

Iran has issued a warning that Donald Trump’s actions could “ignite the spark of World War 3” as the US stated that it was Iran’s “last chance” to negotiate a deal. The US president claimed that the Strait of Hormuz could be open “literally by tomorrow,” stating that the Iranian regime had “begged” for negotiations and that talks are currently occurring, reports BritPanorama.

Mohsen Rezaei, an advisor to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, asserted on Iranian television that “We will not allow a second corridor to be opened in the Strait of Hormuz, and any warship or military force that approaches it will be hit.”

Trump emphasized that establishing peace in the region consists of two phases, the first being the opening of the straits, followed by Iran’s “denuclearisation.” He remarked, “It would take a little while, but … we’re very strong on it.”

Iran, however, has dismissed any plans for their negotiators to meet with US representatives, stating that discussions are instead taking place with Oman to secure a temporary safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

In related developments, US Secretary Scott Bessent indicated that a deal regarding the reopening of the Strait could potentially be reached within a couple of days, although Tehran has refuted claims of direct negotiations with the US.

As tensions escalate, the control of the Strait of Hormuz remains a crucial topic in the ongoing dialogue, illustrating the complexities of the conflict and the high stakes involved for both regional stability and international trade.

The situation continues to develop, with various stakeholders seeking solutions amid the backdrop of military actions and diplomatic posturing.
