China accused of using attractive women to gather secrets from UK MPs

Claims have emerged that China employs attractive young women at public meetings attended by UK MPs to extract sensitive information, raising serious concerns about espionage tactics.

A former Labour minister has expressed suspicion that honeytraps were covertly deployed during gatherings he attended. He recounted, “I noticed very attractive young Chinese women sat in the front row asking probing questions. They’d then invite you for a drink or dinner. I always said ‘No’.”

This revelation aligns with ongoing allegations that China’s Communist Party, led by President Xi Jinping, has engaged in extensive spying operations against the UK for several years. In a piece published in The Sun on Sunday, Tory MP Tom Tugendhat, a former security minister, claimed that the theft of patient records by China has caused significant delays in medical procedures, potentially costing lives.

Tugendhat stated, “They’ve stolen jobs from across our country . . .  ideas and technology in energy and agriculture worth billions.” The assertion comes amid increasing scrutiny of the Labour party for perceived weaknesses in countering Beijing’s influence.

Former Tory Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson reiterated the urgency of addressing the Chinese threat, asserting, “China is a clear threat to the UK. They will not hesitate to harvest information from a military, industrial or security background on an industrial scale.”

The ongoing China “spies” scandal has prompted Williamson to accuse the Labour party of a soft approach towards the Chinese government. The trial of two alleged British agents linked to the espionage case recently collapsed, after the government failed to provide sufficient evidence to substantiate claims that China posed a national security risk.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has expressed his desire to see the prosecution proceed, while Tory leader Kemi Badenoch criticized him for “being weak in the face of espionage.” As the situation develops, the potential implications for UK-China relations and national security remain significant, reports BritPanorama.
