Dominic Solanke’s late equaliser stuns Manchester United
In a thrilling finish at Old Trafford, Tottenham Hotspur salvaged a last-minute draw against Manchester United, with Dominic Solanke scoring in stoppage time after a red card for Rodrigo Bentancur, reports BritPanorama.
Bentancur received his marching orders following a clash with Luke Shaw, who reacted to a heavy challenge by pushing the midfielder to the ground. The incident sparked tensions, leading to a pivotal moment in the match.
As the clock ticked down, Spurs seemed resigned to defeat until Solanke glanced in Sandro Tonali’s cross in the second minute of added time, securing a vital point for the away side. It was a disappointing turn of events for United, who were left to rue missed opportunities.
For manager Michael Carrick, the result compounded frustration as the team faced boos from supporters at both half-time and full-time. The performance underscored the challenges Carrick is grappling with amid a severe start to the season.
The outcome reflects the precarious position Manchester United finds itself in, struggling to find form while Tottenham continues to show resilience, even in the face of adversity. In the end, a dramatic equaliser not only shifted the momentum of the match but also highlighted the unpredictable nature of football, where hope can flourish until the final whistle.
