Tottenham confirms £75 million agreement for Savinho as summer spending exceeds £300 million

Tottenham finalises Savinho transfer from Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement for Manchester City star Savinho, with the transfer fee reportedly set at £75 million, which could rise to over £85 million with add-ons, reports BritPanorama.

City originally acquired the Brazilian winger from Troyes for £30.8 million in 2024, a club under the City Football Group. However, Savinho’s time at the Etihad Stadium has seen him struggle for playing opportunities, managing only a couple of goals in 53 Premier League appearances.

The 22-year-old is expected to complete his medical with Tottenham soon, according to football journalist Fabrizio Romano. Spurs are also in advanced negotiations to acquire his teammate, Omar Marmoush, further indicating their intention to strengthen the squad.

With Savinho’s transfer, Tottenham has now exceeded £310 million in spending this summer as part of a major squad overhaul. The club’s most expensive signing to date has been Sandro Tonali, who joined from Newcastle for £100 million. Mateus Fernandes from West Ham and Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton have also bolstered the team, with significant fees paid for their respective transfers.

Former Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi and Liverpool’s Andy Robertson have joined on free transfers, adding further depth to the squad. Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi expressed optimism about competing at the top of the Premier League this season, indicating a commitment to winning trophies and the ambition to realise the club’s historic potential.

As Spurs reshape their squad, the arrival of Savinho could provide a much-needed lift, both for the team and its supporters keen on a successful campaign. The fresh influx of talent suggests a determination to challenge for top honours in the Premier League once more.
