Nigel Farage responds to Jeremy Clarkson’s criticisms of migrant plan
Nigel Farage has responded to Jeremy Clarkson’s assertion that using Royal Navy ships to halt migrant crossings in the English Channel is “impossible,” reports BritPanorama.
In a piece for The Times, Clarkson, known for his role on the show Clarkson’s Farm, criticized the logistics and feasibility of Farage’s controversial proposal, termed “Operation Fortress.” Clarkson’s commentary questioned the practicality of deploying large warships alongside smaller vessels attempting to cross the Channel.
Furthermore, Clarkson indicated that his own research yielded no evidence suggesting Farage has operated a boat. “How, in the name of all that’s holy, does double-breasted Nige think it would be possible for a large warship to come alongside a much smaller dinghy?” he posited.
In response to Clarkson’s remarks at a press conference on 10 August, Farage defended his experience, stating he has “run boats since the mid 1980s.”
