Golf fans can apply for Masters tickets

Golf enthusiasts will have the opportunity to attend the upcoming Masters tournament live at Augusta National, with the lottery now open for applications to spectate the grand slam event, reports BritPanorama.

The competition will take place from April 8 to 11, 2027, with fans required to apply through the Masters website. Applications must be submitted by June 20, as the lottery is the only authorized method for purchasing tickets to the Masters.

Before the main event, practice rounds will occur from April 5 to 7, including the Par-3 Contest on Wednesday. Tickets are available for practice days at $125 (£93) for April 5 and 6, while April 7 tickets are priced at $150 (£111). Daily tickets for the main competition will be sold at $160 (£119).

Successful applicants will be notified by email following the random selection process, which is expected to conclude by late July. Augusta National states that daily tickets will be awarded first to those lucky enough to win the lottery.

Rory McIlroy will return to defend his title after winning the Masters this year, having made a remarkable comeback to clinch his second green jacket. McIlroy narrowly beat world number one Scottie Scheffler by one stroke, finishing the tournament at 12-under par. His victory marks him as the first golfer to defend the Masters title successfully since Tiger Woods in 2002.

Reflecting on his win, McIlroy commented, “I did want to come back and prove that last year wasn’t a fluke. The Masters continues to be the shining light of the majors, and I’m so honoured and thrilled to win for the second time.”

With six major championships to his name, McIlroy has equalled Sir Nick Faldo’s European record for the second-highest tally of majors by a player from the UK. His achievement places him among the elite, joining Jack Nicklaus, Faldo, and Woods as one of only four golfers to win consecutive Masters titles.

As golf fans eagerly await the tournament, the excitement surrounding applications only adds to the anticipation for this prestigious event in the sport’s calendar.
