Scott Parker departs as Burnley manager ahead of final four Premier League matches

Burnley have announced that Scott Parker has left his role as manager by mutual consent, reports BritPanorama.

The announcement comes with just four Premier League games remaining, amid a season that has seen the Clarets relegated following a challenging campaign. Burnley confirmed in a statement that “Scott Parker has left his position as Head Coach of Burnley Football Club by mutual consent.”

The club’s official statement noted that following the confirmation of relegation last week, Parker and the Board concluded discussions, agreeing it was best for both parties to part ways. During his tenure, he led the team to a record-breaking season in 2024/25, securing promotion from the Championship with an impressive 33-match unbeaten run and a remarkable 30 clean sheets.

In recognition of his contributions, the club expressed sincere gratitude for Parker’s professionalism and dedication, stating he leaves with the respect and appreciation of all connected with Burnley. Mike Jackson has been named as interim manager for the remaining fixtures, beginning with an away match against Leeds United.

Parker reflected on his departure, stating, “It has been an immense privilege to lead this great club over the past two years… I feel that now is the right time for both parties to move in a different direction.” He acknowledged his pride in what was achieved together, particularly highlighting their promotion season. Following his exit, he thanked the fans, the Board, and staff for their support.

Having entered the 2024/25 season with aspirations to remain in the Premier League, Burnley found themselves struggling throughout, winning just four of their 34 league matches thus far. With matches against Aston Villa and Arsenal on the horizon, the focus will now shift to finishing the season as strongly as possible.

For fans and commentators alike, this marks a pivotal moment in the club’s journey, illustrating the fine margins that define success and failure in the ever-demanding Premier League landscape.
