Luke Littler celebrates driving test success

Luke Littler has added another victory to his extraordinary year, celebrating a flawless first-time pass in his driving test just months after conquering the darts world, reports BritPanorama.

The 18-year-old sensation, who became the youngest world champion in darts history earlier this year, passed his practical driving exam in Warrington without a single fault — a perfect result to match his growing list of triumphs.

His success was announced by his driving school on Instagram, which posted: “Congratulations to Luke Littler on passing his driving test today at Warrington on his first attempt with ZERO driving faults. Absolutely amazing achievement, well done — now enjoy that car!”

This marks yet another milestone in a remarkable 12 months for the teenager, who has dominated the oche. While Littler has enjoyed a meteoric rise in professional darts, his journey to driving success was not without setbacks.

He famously failed his theory test six times before finally passing on his seventh attempt, scoring exactly 43 out of 50 — the minimum required. His hazard perception score was more comfortable at 63 out of 75, well above the passing mark. Despite the delays, Littler’s determination paid off.

After clinching the world title in January, he revealed plans to spend some of his £500,000 winnings on a Mercedes A-Class, even though he could not legally drive at the time. “I’ve always loved a Mercedes A-Class — just a small car,” he said earlier this year.

“Last year I was looking at driving and I loved Ford Focuses. But now I’ve gone up in the world a little. What model? No idea — just an A-Class. I don’t know the different models.”

Initially, the teenager had suggested he would wait until his twenties to start lessons, but his rapid success on and off the dartboard seems to have inspired him to fast-track his plans. “I’m going to have to do my lessons before I get into my twenties when it’ll be too late and I can’t be bothered,” he previously joked.

“It won’t be a birthday present. I think it would be a birthday present from me to me.” Littler’s progress became a running theme among fans, as he shared updates about his learning journey on social media. After finally passing his theory, he posted a celebratory message alongside a photo of his results letter, writing: “We will have a look, of course we will have a look!” complete with dancing emojis.

In September, he admitted to having a few setbacks along the way. “I did do a theory the other week but I didn’t put it on my Instagram,” he said. “Oh, it was a bad one — I’ll let you know that.” By that stage, Littler had already bought a car in anticipation of his success, though he confirmed it was not the Mercedes he originally planned for. “I’ve got a car — and it’s not a Mercedes — but it’s sat there waiting,” he said at the time.

With each achievement, Littler reminds us that the trajectory of young talent can often be full of unexpected turns, much like the skill required to navigate both the darts board and the open road.
