Lando Norris captures emotional victory at Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Lando Norris broke down in tears over team radio after sealing the title at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, reports BritPanorama.

In an emotional broadcast, the McLaren driver expressed his gratitude: “You’ve made a kid’s dream true, thank you so much. I love you guys, thanks for everything.” He also dedicated a heartfelt message to his parents, stating, “You deserve it. I love you mum, I love you dad, thanks for everything. I am not crying…”

Following the race, he reunited with his family and girlfriend amid emotional scenes. After the victory, Norris remarked, “I have not cried in a while, I didn’t think I’d cry but I did. It’s a long journey, first of all I want to say a big thanks to my guys, everyone at McLaren, my parents, my mum, my dad, they are the ones who supported me since the beginning.” The champion also reflected on his feelings, saying, “Oh, I look like a loser! It feels amazing.”

He acknowledged the competitive nature of the season, adding, “I want to congratulate Max and Oscar, my competitors the whole season, it’s been a pleasure to race against both of them. It’s been an honour. I’ve enjoyed it, it’s been a long year but we did it and I am so proud of everyone.” Norris emphasized the unpredictable nature of Formula One: “You can’t not think of it, but it’s a long race until the end. Anything in Formula One can happen.”

As the dust settles on his stunning victory, Norris’s season stands as a testament to resilience and sportsmanship. He concluded his remarks with a promise to maintain focus, stating, “I had no idea. I didn’t care, I knew what I did was fine so I had nothing to worry about. Not many people in Formula One get to experience what I’ve experienced this season. I am happy for everyone more than me… I am just crazy happy.” After this landmark achievement, he celebrated on the podium alongside Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen.

Norris’s emotional response encapsulates the blend of triumph and vulnerability that characterizes elite sport, reminding fans that even among the fiercest competition, the human element remains at the heart of every race.
