Donald Trump has confirmed his plans to attend the 2027 Ryder Cup in Limerick, Ireland, following discussions with Taoiseach Micheal Martin during his two-day visit to Dublin, reports BritPanorama.
When asked about returning for the prestigious golf tournament, Trump stated, “I will, absolutely. It’s a big tournament.” His interest in golf is well-known, and he plans to be actively involved in the upcoming event.
In a related comment, he expressed support for hosting the Ryder Cup at his Turnberry course in Scotland, although he acknowledged that the tournament’s scheduling typically occurs many years in advance. “I do think the Ryder Cup should be held in Turnberry, but it won’t be – probably because they give it out 10 years in advance,” he explained.
Trump attended the opening day of the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, where he observed the proceedings from a secured area. He is also expected to present the Irish Open cup this Sunday, with Shane Lowry leading the tournament as he enters the final round with a four-shot advantage.
Lowry achieved a remarkable course-record 62 on Friday and noted the excitement of performing in front of the home crowd. “It was nice. It was real fun out there,” he remarked after finishing the round. In contrast, Rory McIlroy had a more challenging day, shooting a 69, which left him one-under-par for the tournament.
