Haaland’s frustration after narrow City win
Erling Haaland delivered a notably irritable post-match interview following Manchester City’s narrow victory over Burnley on Wednesday evening, reports BritPanorama.
The 25-year-old Norwegian striker netted the solitary goal as Pep Guardiola’s side secured a 1-0 triumph at Turf Moor. The result propelled City to the summit of the Premier League table, though only on goals scored rather than goal difference.

As I said now three times.”
The striker’s mood lightened when discussion turned to the weeks ahead, laughing as he acknowledged April’s potential: “It can. It’s been good so far. Keep going, keep going. Try to win now on Saturday and then Everton.” When it was suggested the dressing room would be buoyant despite the slender margin of victory, Haaland expressed bemusement at the line of questioning: “One-nil is amazing, I’m super happy, I don’t know why you keep asking me that,” he said.
“I’m super happy we win, we got three points and as they sing we are top of the league so be happy.” City now turn their attention to Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Southampton at Wembley, while Pep Guardiola was left delighted after his side dug deep to secure all three points.
“We had chances. We have to win the games, but it was clear, clear, clear. We were not ‘umph’ in the last part of the shots. Sometimes it’s the fatigue. I had the feeling if we score at 2-0 it will be more relaxed and we could be more composed in the final third,” he said.
“Winning is the main target. Considering the last three days and the emotion and physicality in the game we played, we make an extraordinary game. The chances we created we could score more goals but the important thing is every game winning.” Guardiola noted that he was confident from the chances created, asserting, “And just for many of these types of games, we score the second or the third for the chances that we create…”
