England secures dominant 6-0 victory against Miami FC

England cruised to an emphatic 6-0 triumph against Miami FC in a closed-doors friendly at their West Palm Beach training base in Florida, reports BritPanorama.

Thomas Tuchel’s men absolutely demolished the American second-tier outfit, with five of their goals coming after the break. Ivan Toney was the star of the show, grabbing a hat-trick, bolstering his case for a starting spot in the upcoming World Cup. His performance included a stunning long-range effort that has been described as a “worldie.”

This remarkable display by England was further complemented by goals from Jordan Henderson, and promising talents Ethan Nwaneri and Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha. Ngumoha’s strike stood out, described as “breathtaking” thanks to its distance and precision.

However, despite his impressive performance, Ngumoha will not feature in the World Cup after not being included in the provisional 55-man selection. Tuchel included him for training in the States, but even if injuries occur, he cannot be called up due to this exclusion. Nwaneri finds himself in a similar situation regarding eligibility.

Defensive players Marc Guehi and Kobbie Mainoo also made solid impressions during the match, catching the attention of the coaching staff. This victory means England have now won all three of their warm-up fixtures without conceding a goal, first beating New Zealand 1-0 and then dispatching Costa Rica 3-0 in Orlando.

Tuchel will be pleased with this preparation, though tougher tests are anticipated once the tournament begins. England’s World Cup campaign kicks off against Croatia in Dallas on June 17 — a rematch of their semi-final exit in 2018.

As the squad gears up for the challenges ahead, this performance underscores the potential within Tuchel’s side. The real test will be translating friendly form into competitive success against world-class opponents.
