Jurgen Klopp’s agent dismisses Real Madrid speculation
Jurgen Klopp’s agent has firmly dismissed speculation linking the former Liverpool manager with a shock move to Real Madrid, reports BritPanorama.
The German coach has again found himself at the centre of managerial rumours after Los Blancos presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme named him as his preferred choice to take charge at the Bernabeu. Riquelme has outlined ambitious plans ahead of the club’s upcoming presidential election, promising major changes after another disappointing domestic campaign.
Among his headline-grabbing pledges are plans to pursue Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and appoint Klopp as manager should he secure victory. However, Klopp’s representatives wasted little time in shutting down the speculation.
Agent Marc Kosicke made it clear that the 58-year-old has no interest in returning to club management at this stage of his career. “It’s annoying,” Kosicke said, according to Sky Sport Germany. “Jurgen Klopp is happy in his role at Red Bull and has no ambitions to work as a coach at a club.”
The comments appear to leave little room for doubt regarding Klopp’s immediate future. Since stepping down as Liverpool manager in 2024, Klopp has been linked with some of the biggest jobs in world football, but he has consistently resisted returning to the dugout, even rejecting an opportunity to become Germany manager.
Klopp currently serves as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull, a position he officially assumed at the beginning of 2025. His role sees him oversee football operations across the company’s expanding network of clubs worldwide, including talent development and recruitment strategies.
Klopp’s contract reportedly runs until the end of 2029, making any return to management unlikely in the foreseeable future. The latest rumours emerged amid a wider election campaign at Real Madrid, with Riquelme vowing to bring major stars to the club and promising supporters a blockbuster transfer strategy if elected. His proposals have already generated controversy, angering Manchester City over suggestions involving Haaland.
Despite the ongoing managerial uncertainty in Madrid, reports indicate that Jose Mourinho has already agreed to terms for a return to the Spanish giants, dependent on the presidential election outcome.
During his nine years at Liverpool, Klopp transformed the club into one of Europe’s dominant forces, winning numerous major trophies, including the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup, before leaving to take on his new role.
For many fans, the allure of Klopp back in club management remains potent, yet his current focus seems firmly set on broader challenges beyond the touchline.
