Robert Jenrick clashes with ITV journalist over Reform UK polling
Robert Jenrick clashed with an ITV journalist on Good Morning Britain on Thursday, accusing him of always asking negative questions about Reform UK, reports BritPanorama.
Paul Brand questioned the former Conservative MP about “defector remorse” following new Ipsos voter intention polling conducted on 25 October, which showed Reform UK down three points. The polling indicated that only 19 percent of British adults now believe Reform UK is ready to form the next government, a decline from 22 percent in September and 29 percent a month earlier.
Brand also noted that the Reform treasury spokesperson and Nigel Farage encountered rows of empty seats during their pre-Budget speeches on Monday, highlighting concerns about the party’s current standing.
“Paul, you are a left-wing commentator and activist… You obviously don’t want Reform to succeed… You always just ask negative questions about Reform,” Mr. Jenrick responded, defending his party’s position amidst the declining support.
The exchange underscores the challenges facing Reform UK as it navigates shifting public opinion and internal party dynamics. With recent polling suggesting a decrease in confidence among voters, the political landscape appears increasingly competitive.
This moment captures not only the tension between party representatives and the media but also the broader implications for UK politics as parties vie for public trust and support ahead of future elections.
