Piers Morgan reveals Cristiano Ronaldo’s message about Simon Jordan
Piers Morgan has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo sent him a pointed message regarding Simon Jordan, following the talkSPORT presenter’s criticism of the Portuguese captain during a heated radio discussion, reports BritPanorama.
The debate escalated when Morgan and Jordan argued over Ronaldo’s unexpected exit from Portugal’s training camp. After being an unused substitute in a recent match against Norway, Ronaldo made the decision to leave the squad.
Jordan questioned whether Ronaldo’s conduct contributed to his ongoing disputes, prompting Morgan to defend Ronaldo’s actions. He later released a statement in which Ronaldo accused manager Jorge Jesus of not fulfilling promises regarding his match involvement. Ronaldo claimed he was informed he would receive 30 minutes of playtime but ultimately was not called onto the field.
In response to the exchange with Jordan, Morgan reported on his show, Football Uncensored, that he sent Ronaldo a clip of their argument, which elicited a rather humorous retort from the player. “That blond guy. Tell him to stop with the Botox. He looks like an apple,” Morgan quoted Ronaldo as saying.
Throughout the broadcast, Morgan expressed pride in Ronaldo’s willingness to defend himself, arguing that respectful treatment is a reasonable expectation, especially from authority figures. “You have to stand up for yourself not only when you’re disrespected, but when your boss lies to you,” he stated.
Ronaldo remains adamant that he is not retired from international duty, leaving the door open for future appearances. Currently, he is concentrating on playing for Al-Nassr, who are focused on clinching the Saudi Pro League title for a second consecutive year.
As the drama unfolds, Ronaldo’s quest for clarity amid internal disputes in Portuguese football reflects a larger narrative of the complexities athletes face in navigating their careers and relationships with management. In this evolving saga, it’s notable how even icons like Ronaldo must contend with the realities of leadership and legacy.
