Tony Adams sells Cotswolds estate for £4 million

Former Arsenal and England skipper Tony Adams has waved goodbye to his sprawling Cotswolds estate after more than two decades — all so his wife can head back to university, reports BritPanorama.

The 59-year-old football legend sold the eight-bedroom property near Cirencester for approximately £4 million. Adams and his wife Poppy Teacher initially purchased the estate in 2002 and have now relocated back to London to facilitate her studies.

Ms Teacher is set to embark on a master’s degree in early modern history, prompting the couple to pack up their country life. They are currently renting in north London as they look for a permanent residence, avoiding the Chelsea area, which Adams playfully referenced as a nod to his loyalty to Arsenal.

The estate, which sprawls over five acres, boasted amenities such as a swimming pool, tennis courts, stables, and even a separate two-bedroom cottage. The buyer is none other than Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, who reportedly purchased the home outright with no mortgage involved.

In an interview with the Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential column, Adams expressed his thoughts on this significant life change. “This is a new era for us,” he remarked. “We’ve sold the house and are returning to London. My wife is going back to school.” Ms Teacher recounted their candid conversation about her educational aspirations, highlighting the personal dynamics of their decision.

Adams has embraced the transition after more than twenty years in Gloucestershire, returning to the bustling rhythm of city life. As they prepare for this chapter, it’s a timely reminder of the ever-evolving nature of life and the enduring ties between home and ambition — how even heroes of the game adapt to new challenges off the pitch.
