Keane and Neville warn Chelsea faces biggest troubles ahead of next season

Keane and Neville identify Chelsea as club in biggest trouble

Roy Keane and Gary Neville have identified Chelsea as the club facing the most significant challenges heading into the next season. The Manchester United legends expressed their views during a discussion with former Arsenal star Ian Wright, focusing on the turbulent trajectory of the Blues as they struggle to avoid a record seventh consecutive league defeat, reports BritPanorama.

Chelsea’s current form is alarming, having lost six Premier League matches in a row while managing to score only once—an impressive goal from Joao Pedro that ultimately did not lead to victory. The club now finds itself in ninth place, with the possibility of slipping as low as 16th should their dismal run persist.

At the time of Enzo Maresca’s dismissal, Chelsea was positioned fifth and appeared to be in the hunt for Champions League qualification, having secured a place in the tournament under Maresca’s leadership the previous year. His tenure had included victories in both the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup.

Upon taking over, Liam Rosenior experienced an initial positive reception, but this quickly deteriorated. Chelsea suffered a heavy exit from the Champions League at the hands of PSG, losing 8-2, and continued to falter in domestic competitions. The pressure mounted from supporters questioning his tactics, ultimately leading to his dismissal on April 22.

Despite the struggles, Chelsea managed to advance to the FA Cup final, defeating Leeds United. However, four games remain in a season that has remarkably unraveled. The forthcoming final against Manchester City not only represents an opportunity for silverware but also potential qualification for the *Europa League*, vital for maintaining fan support, especially as discontent rises regarding recent decisions from the ownership group, BlueCo.

Additionally, Chelsea announced modifications to their ticket-selling process for next season, which will introduce a ballot system to make ticket allocation more equitable. Critics, including the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust, have voiced strong objections to this change, claiming it complicates access for loyal fans.

As the season draws to a close, the club’s future hangs in the balance, illustrating how football’s unpredictability can lead to both despair and unexpected triumph. This junction for Chelsea serves as a compelling reminder of the slender margins that define success in elite football.
