Sir Alex Ferguson condition improves following hospital visit
There has been a positive update on Sir Alex Ferguson’s condition after the Manchester United legend was taken to hospital as a precaution, reports BritPanorama.
The Scotsman felt unwell during United’s Premier League clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday. Initially checked by medical staff in the tunnel area, he was swiftly transported to the hospital for further assessment.
Before leaving, Ferguson was seen on social media greeting fans and chatting with staff at the stadium. The good news is that the iconic Scotsman appears to be on the mend; a source close to Ferguson confirmed he was “Okay.”
It’s understood he’s feeling much better and remains in good spirits. During his absence, United delivered a performance that would have pleased Ferguson. Michael Carrick’s side started strongly, with Matheus Cunha opening the scoring through a mishit half-volley that wrong-footed Liverpool keeper Freddie Woodman.
Benjamin Sesko then added a second, sparking debate as he bundled the ball home, potentially using his hand, but VAR found no definitive evidence to overturn it. Liverpool fought back, leveling the score within 11 minutes after halftime with goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo, taking advantage of United’s defensive lapses.
Just when it seemed the points would be shared, Kobbie Mainoo struck with a moment of magic. His stunning half-volley from 18 yards out in the 77th minute clinched a 3-2 victory for United, sending Old Trafford into raptures.
This win guarantees Carrick’s men a top-five finish, securing them a spot in next season’s Champions League, marking their first appearance in Europe’s premier competition for two years. Ferguson would surely have loved watching that one; it was a performance and result that the legendary boss would have been proud of.
