Travis Kelce’s wedding celebrations with Taylor Swift have reportedly been overshadowed by guest list drama after some of his NFL friends were left unhappy at missing out on an exclusive pre-wedding event, reports BritPanorama.
Approximately 1,000 guests are expected at Friday’s lavish wedding in New York, but not all attendees enjoyed equal access. Several members of Kelce’s football circle were notably absent from Thursday night’s intimate rehearsal dinner.
According to the Daily Mail, the Kansas City Chiefs star reserved this gathering for his closest friends and long-time confidants, excluding others who were invited only to the larger celebration. “There is a general invite to everyone on the team,” a source said, adding that it did not extend to some front office personnel, which has resulted in feelings of exclusion among those left out.
This sentiment appears to be echoed by several players on the team, with reports stating, “A few who he’s closer to have more info and it sounds like there’s something smaller that they get to go to.” Despite these frustrations, Kelce’s inner circle made an entrance in eye-catching style as the wedding festivities commenced.
Among the first arrivals were Kelce’s childhood friend Aric Jones and management twins Aaron and Andre Eanes, who have been instrumental in transforming him into one of the NFL’s most prominent commercial stars. Other notable attendees included former NFL tight end Ross Travis and San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle, who made headlines with his playful outfit choice.
Kittle was candid about his uncertainty regarding the wedding plans despite receiving an invitation, joking, “I genuinely don’t know where I’m going.”
The couple arrived in New York on Thursday after travel disruptions delayed their departure from Nashville. Notably, Fox Sports broadcaster Erin Andrews, who had previously encouraged Swift to give Kelce a chance on her podcast, was also in attendance at the exclusive rehearsal dinner. Swift’s side of the festivities featured several prominent figures as well, including her long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff.
