Pep Guardiola delivered an emotional farewell speech to Manchester City fans as he concluded his tenure in the Premier League, reports BritPanorama.

The iconic manager, who secured 20 trophies during a decade with the club, expressed gratitude and fond memories in a heartfelt address at the Etihad Stadium, visibly moved as he addressed the supporters. “I’m so nervous. Terrified right now. Why do you love me so much? Why do you do that to me?” he began, setting an intimate tone for the occasion.

Guardiola emphasized the profound connection he forged with the club and its fans, stating, “It has been an incredible, tremendous honour to be your manager and to be here during these 10 years.” He urged his audience to remember not just the trophies but also the emotions shared over the years. “Hopefully, through these unbelievable players, we provided emotions that made people come here and feel maybe we are going to have fun,” he noted.

Reflecting on his legacy, Guardiola remarked that success allowed him to stay for such a long period, adding, “That’s the reason why I could stay 10 years; nobody can sustain so many years here.” He also acknowledged his family’s presence at the event, including his 94-year-old father, sharing, “For many, many years, our family name will be here [in the new stand].” His thanks extended particularly to Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon Al Mubarak for their support throughout his journey.

Addressing his players, Guardiola offered his enduring support as they “continue making the performances and maintaining the standards that legends like Fernandinho and Gundogan created here.” He concluded with a warm invitation to fans to embrace him if they meet in the future, expressing, “I will need it.” His final words encapsulated both joy and passion: “It has been f******g fun.”

Guardiola’s remarks served not just as a farewell but also a reminder of the deep ties between manager, players, and fans, encapsulating a decade of vibrant football under his stewardship. As he steps away, the echoes of his tenure will linger long in the hearts of City supporters, a testament to a modern footballing legacy.
