Arsenal teenager Max Dowman sets Guinness World Records
Arsenal teenager Max Dowman has received three official Guinness World Records certificates for his remarkable breakthrough last season, reports BritPanorama.
The 16-year-old, who has been training with the club’s senior squad since the age of 14, now holds records as the youngest player to feature in the UEFA Champions League, the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history, and the youngest player to win a Premier League title.
Dowman’s triple achievement has also earned him the lead profile in the Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027’s newly created Class of ’27, showcasing 27 players shaping the next era of the sport. The book features him as its first entry.
His record-breaking journey began on November 4, 2025, when he came on as a second-half substitute against Slavia Praha at just 15 years and 308 days old. This appearance made him the first 15-year-old to play in the Champions League, surpassing the previous record held by Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko by 75 days.
Dowman then made headlines on March 14, 2026, when he scored against Everton at the age of 16 years and 73 days, becoming the Premier League’s youngest-ever goalscorer. A third record followed at the end of the season when Arsenal’s title triumph established him as the youngest player to win the Premier League at 16 years and 144 days.
The Class of ’27 reflects a blend of emerging talents and established stars, with Dowman standing alongside names like Lamine Yamal, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe. Tom Beckerlegge, senior editor of the Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027, remarked, “The youngest player on our list, Max sums up what the Class of ’27 is all about. To have already achieved three Guinness World Records titles before turning 17 is extraordinary, and his story captures exactly why this generation of players is so exciting.”
In recent developments for Arsenal, manager Mikel Arteta signed a contract extension until 2030, marking another positive turn for the club. “It’s a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal,” he said.
This week has undoubtedly been a landmark one for Arsenal. Dowman’s achievements remind fans that the club is not just resting on its laurels; it is cultivating a talented future alongside its present ambitions. One can only wonder how this youthful dynamism will shape the football landscape in the years to come.
