Jude Bellingham addresses drinking claims with playful goal celebration for Real Madrid

Jude Bellingham responds to criticism with playful celebration

Jude Bellingham addressed recent unfounded allegations about his lifestyle with a light-hearted celebration during Real Madrid’s impressive 6-1 victory over Monaco. The 22-year-old England midfielder scored after bypassing Monaco keeper Philipp Kohn, wrapping up a commanding match for the Spanish side, reports BritPanorama.

Following his goal, Bellingham smiled broadly, mimicking a drinking motion with his hand. This gesture appeared aimed at Spanish YouTuber AuronPlay, who had made baseless claims that the Birmingham-born player “loves alcohol too much” and frequents “every nightclub in Spain.”

The winger’s goal celebration came just days after he faced criticism from Real Madrid supporters during a 2-0 triumph against Levante. Bellingham characterized his action as “a bit of a joke,” targeting those spreading negativity about him. “It feels like anyone now can get a camera, say what they want and the whole world just believes them with no evidence,” he said to TNT Sports.

Bellingham further elaborated on handling criticism, stating, “I feel there’s two ways you can take it. You can cry about it and moan, or you can just roll with it and enjoy it. For me, I know the truth and I know what really goes on in my personal life. All the outside noise doesn’t really matter, but it’s nice to have a little joke.” Despite the boos from sections of the crowd, he maintained a respectful stance, recognizing that the fans invest time and money to support the team.

“I’ve always said the fans pay their money, work all week and save up to come to Real Madrid games to support us, so they’re entitled to say what they want,” he acknowledged. Bellingham understands that performances like the one against Monaco are what the club’s demanding fanbase expects.

Following this match, the resounding win propelled Real Madrid into second place in the Champions League standings. Bellingham noted, “This was the kind of performance we have to deliver more for our fans.” Currently, in LaLiga, Los Blancos sit just one point behind leaders Barcelona, recently bouncing back from a difficult spell. The club dismissed manager Xabi Alonso after a 3-2 loss in the Spanish Super Cup final, with Alvaro Arbeloa temporarily stepping in following a Copa del Rey exit to Albacete.

Bellingham has impressed this season, scoring six times in 25 matches across all competitions, including four goals in 16 LaLiga fixtures. His team is set to face Villarreal on Saturday.

The narrative surrounding Bellingham not only reflects the challenges of public scrutiny in football but serves as a testament to how athletes navigate the fine line between personal life and public persona. It’s a reminder that even those at the top can face misinterpretations and judgement, underscoring how the world of sport often collides with personal narrative in unpredictable, yet human ways.
