Harry Redknapp dismisses Tottenham return speculation amid club crisis

Harry Redknapp has poured cold water on speculation linking him with a dramatic return to Tottenham, despite the mounting crisis engulfing Igor Tudor at the club, reports BritPanorama.

The 78-year-old former Spurs boss confirmed that the north London outfit have not reached out to him at all. Speaking to the Press Association at the Cheltenham Festival, Redknapp stated, “I’ve been asked a few times if I’d go back to Spurs and it’s probably not going to happen, is it?”

He further added, “Would I go back? Of course I would, but I doubt very much it’s going to happen.” The emphasis on his current priorities shifted to his horse, The Jukebox Man, competing at the racing festival.

Meanwhile, Tudor’s tenure has been deeply troubled since he took over from Thomas Frank last month. The Croatian has lost every match he has overseen so far, including a dismal 4-1 home defeat to Arsenal and subsequent losses to Fulham and Crystal Palace, leaving Spurs without a top-flight victory in 2026.

Tuesday night brought fresh humiliation as Atletico Madrid dismantled Tudor’s side 5-2 in the Champions League, with four goals arriving within the opening 22 minutes. The mounting pressure on Tudor raised questions about his ability to lead the team, a sentiment echoed by Redknapp, who expressed concern for his former club’s predicament.

In addition to the team’s dismal on-pitch performance, reports have surfaced about discontent in the Spurs squad, with several players reportedly unhappy with Tudor’s methods. Described as “disrespectful” and “borderline mocking,” his attempts to enforce discipline appear to have backfired, leaving players frustrated and questioning his leadership.

With Tottenham currently sitting 16th in the league table, they find themselves just one point above the relegation zone. If the club were to drop into the second tier, it would mark the first such occurrence in 49 years, highlighting the urgency for a turnaround.

As the situation develops, Redknapp’s thoughts linger on the looming threat of relegation, remarking, “They’ve got it all on to stay up, it’s going to be hard.” His reflection serves as a reminder of how gently the balance between success and crisis can tilt in the world of football.
