Enzo Fernandez seeks Chelsea exit after European football failure
Enzo Fernandez is reportedly looking to leave Chelsea this summer following the club’s inability to secure European football, reports BritPanorama.
The Blues are keen to retain their vice-captain but are open to offers for the Argentine midfielder. Chelsea has set an asking price of £120 million for the World Cup winner, a figure that would mark a new club-record sale, excluding add-ons.
Fernandez’s preferred destination is said to be Real Madrid, with his representative, Javier Pastore, reportedly in discussions with the Spanish club, according to talkSPORT.
After Chelsea’s defeat to Sunderland last Sunday, Fernandez appeared to bid farewell to supporters, intensifying speculation about his future. He joined Stamford Bridge in January 2023 for £106 million, at the time a British transfer record, and has since contributed to the team’s successes, including winning the 2025 Europa Conference League and the inaugural expanded Club World Cup.

Should Real Madrid decide to pursue Fernandez, he might need to revert to a defensive midfielder role, one in which he excelled during his time at Benfica. Although Manchester City has also been linked with the player, they appear focused on acquiring Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson instead.
