Bradley Barcola completes transfer to Liverpool
Bradley Barcola has revealed his ambition to win the Premier League after completing a blockbuster move from Paris Saint-Germain to Liverpool, reports BritPanorama.
The France international has signed a five-year contract at Anfield after passing a medical and finalising the details of his transfer at the AXA Training Centre. Liverpool will pay an initial £106 million for Barcola, with a further £17 million available in performance-related add-ons. The total package could, therefore, rise to £123 million.
PSG had originally valued the 23-year-old at £145 million, but the Reds successfully negotiated a lower price before completing one of the biggest deals in their history. Barcola will wear the No 29 shirt and has become Liverpool’s fifth arrival of a busy summer transfer window.
The versatile forward explained that his desire to remain at Anfield for several years was behind his decision to commit his long-term future to the club. “It’s a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I’m very happy,” Barcola told Liverpool’s official website.
He added, “It took a long time but I’m really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play. I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League – it’s one of my biggest dreams in my life.”
Barcola arrives with considerable experience despite his relatively young age. He spent three seasons at PSG, scoring 39 goals and providing 35 assists across 152 appearances for the French giants, and he collected three successive Ligue 1 titles along with back-to-back Champions League trophies.
The winger began his senior career with Lyon, making his professional debut in November 2021. He registered seven goals and 11 assists in 47 matches before joining PSG in August 2023. Capable of operating on either wing or through the middle, Barcola will offer Liverpool greater flexibility across their attack.
He has also established himself as an important figure for France since making his senior international debut in June 2024. Barcola has scored six times in 28 appearances for his country, with three of those goals coming during this summer’s World Cup, where he helped France to a fourth-placed finish.
Having experienced the Anfield atmosphere twice as an opposition player, he mentioned that Liverpool’s supporters significantly influenced his enthusiasm for the transfer. “When I knew about Liverpool’s interest in me, I didn’t ask questions and I knew it was a very big club for me,” he stated.
