Boris Johnson rejected the suggestion that his behaviour as prime minister contributed to a “coarsening” of politics, reports BritPanorama.
In an exclusive interview broadcast on Sky News on Sunday, Johnson was questioned by Trevor Phillips about his accountability for the perceived decline in political discourse, particularly referencing the Partygate scandal.
The former Conservative leader dismissed the claim, stating emphatically, “B*****ks. I don’t believe anybody would say that in their right mind [would say that].” He characterised the Partygate controversy as “nonsense.”
During the conversation, Johnson later commended Labour’s Rachel Reeves for effectively responding to a heckler at a petrol station, showcasing a different aspect of political engagement.
