Harry Kane shines as England secures victory over Czech Republic

Harry Kane marked his record-equalling 125th England appearance with a brace as Thomas Tuchel’s side cruised to a 3-0 Nations League victory over the Czech Republic at Wembley on Tuesday night, reports BritPanorama.

The England captain drew level with former goalkeeper Peter Shilton as the most-capped men’s player for the national team and took his international goal tally to 91.

England took the lead after 27 minutes when Kane drove a cross into the Czech penalty area. Defender Vladimir Coufal inadvertently diverted the ball into his own net while attempting to intercept. Kane soon added a goal of his own, finishing from close range after Morgan Rogers delivered a first-time ball across the six-yard box five minutes before half-time.

Kane struck again 12 minutes into the second half, rising at the far post to head home Lewis Hall’s corner, putting the result beyond doubt. This represented his 91st goal in 125 appearances for England. When Kane was substituted for Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the closing minutes, he received a standing ovation from the Wembley crowd.

Kane’s achievement comes more than 11 years after his England debut, during which he scored shortly after coming on against Lithuania. Shilton’s record of 125 appearances had stood since 1990. With 125 caps, Kane now positions himself to set a new mark upon his next appearance.

The victory continued a strong run for Tuchel’s side, which had already beaten the Czech Republic in Prague and thrashed Croatia 7-0 prior to this match. England controlled the contest at Wembley, adding another convincing result to their Nations League campaign.

Currently, England has nine points from their four Nations League outings this autumn, while Spain sits at the top of the group, having won three and drawn one of their matches.

The sight of Kane slotting home yet another goal reinforces his status as an irreplaceable figure in England’s squad, reminding fans of the intensity and unpredictability that can define both the player and the game itself — a thrilling intersection of artistry and competition that captivates on and off the pitch.
